Quartz Crystal

Whenever I purchase a crystal item I like to cleanse it of negative energy, and charge it with my own energies.  To cleanse:  you can submerge  your crystal in distilled water with a pinch of sea salt.  For a quick cleansing  30 minutes, or for a deeper cleansing do the same,  but leave the crystal over night.  During the full moon is best, because it is more powerful.

To charge:  I arrange a minimum of seven quartz crystal points facing inward around the crystal item.  As shown in the picture of the Crystal Skull  above.  These quartz  crystal points are left around the item for a minimum of 12 hours.  Again during the full moon because that is when the moon is at its peak of power.  What happens after positioning these crystal points around the crystal item is amazing.  The crystal item itself becomes energized.

Whether you want a crystal ball for clairvoyant reasons or you simply think it makes a beautiful addition to your home, these balls will all eventually require cleaning. In many cases, they’ll simply collect a bit of dust after sitting on a shelf or office desk. And if this is the case, you’ll merely have to wipe it down with a damp cloth.  But if there are fingerprints smudging the crystal ball or some other undesirable element on the ball itself,  here are some easy cleaning tips.

Basically, you’ll want to wash crystal balls in warm water with a mild detergent. Generally, crystal balls are resistant to scratches, because the material is so durable, but you’ll still want to be careful to use a non-abrasive soap and cloth. Rinse to remove all the soap then dry with a lint-free cloth.  Return the ball  to its stand using gloves or the cloth. One note: Never place cold crystal items in very warm water. Drastic temperature changes can damage crystal.

Geodes are a geological rock formation which occurs in sedimentary rocks. Geodes are essentially rock cavities with internal crystal formations. The exterior of the most common geodes is generally limestone or a related rock, while the interior contains quartz crystals deposits. Other geodes are completely filled with crystal, being solid all the way through. These types of geodes are called nodules.

The Keokuk geode is found around the town of Keokuk, Iowa, and is known as the geode capital of the world. Geodes from the Keokuk area contain a variety of minerals, but quartz is the most dominant. The Iowa General Assembly declared the geodes as the official “State Rock” in 1967.

While people hear the phrase “crystal ball” and immediately think about mind readers and psychics, they actually have many different uses and purposes in the average household. For one, they make absolutely beautiful home décor accents. Especially when they’re exposed to the light, they take on many different and unique colors. Plus, each crystal ball itself is unique and different, because the various veins and patterns within the quartz are as unique as a fingerprint.

This uniqueness makes them the ideal piece of home décor. Whether they’re fitted on a stand or free standing, these quartz crystal balls are also beautiful in gardens. Place them among the twisting vines and blooming flowers for an eclectic and different look. If you want, they also look great next to outdoor mosaic tiles and other garden decorations.
