Cleansing and Charging Your Crystal Items
Whenever I purchase a crystal item I like to cleanse it of negative energy, and charge it with my own energies. To cleanse: you can submerge your crystal in distilled water with a pinch of sea salt. For a quick cleansing 30 minutes, or for a deeper cleansing do the same, but leave the crystal over night. During the full moon is best, because it is more powerful.
To charge: I arrange a minimum of seven quartz crystal points facing inward around the crystal item. As shown in the picture of the Crystal Skull above. These quartz crystal points are left around the item for a minimum of 12 hours. Again during the full moon because that is when the moon is at its peak of power. What happens after positioning these crystal points around the crystal item is amazing. The crystal item itself becomes energized.

I came upon your blog while browsing the web about quartz crystals. My friend recently purchased a beautiful piece of quartz for me in Arizona that was charged at the Sedona Vortex. However I have read that a lot of people, including your self, cleanse your crystals right after you get them. I am worried that if I cleanse my quartz crystal that it will lose the energy from the vortex. This particular piece of quartz is supposed to have a perfect male/female balance. What should I do?
That is a good question. The cleansing will not remove the positive energy from the vortex, it removes and cleanses negative energy it might have contacted. The only way to deplete the vortex energy is to keep it in a negative environment. Never subject your crystal to drastic temperture changes. Recharging only enhances the vortex energy that is held within.
